We are committed to promoting lifelong healthy habits, fostering a sense of community in our cafeterias, and ensuring equitable access to wholesome food for all students. Nutritious meals are a vital part of helping students stay focused, energized, and ready to learn each day.

  • Nutrition Promotion Goals

    1. 1.Nutrition Promotion goals are to have students and staff make smart choices when eating. North Miami School Community School Nutrition Educator help students and each other by teaching how to read food labels, making better food choices and portion control. 
    2. A goal here at North Miami Community School is to promote and communicate to students, patients/guardians though apps, media, website links and presentation from the athletic trainer to learn about healthy items such as vegetables, fruit and hydration. To make each person healthy and happy.

    Nutrition Education Goals

    1. Nutrition topics shall be integrated within the comprehensive health education curriculum and taught at every grade level according to standards of the Indiana department of education. The Elementary and Middle High School will link nutrition and education activities with existing school health programs. North Miami Community School aims to educate all students K-12 with the tools they need about nutrition.
    2. Though implementation and enforcement of the policy, North Miami Community School targets to create an environment that supports opportunities for physical activity and healthy eating behaviors.

    Physical Activity Goals

    1. Our school encourages students in grades 6-12 to participate in one extracurricular activity per year. North Miami has the same goals for K-6 North Miami has serval youth curricular like Wee Warrior Football, Youth Soccer, Warrior Club Wrestling, Club one Basketball, Wee Warrior Cheer and North Miami Youth Leage Baseball.
    2. All students in grades K-12 will participate in physical education to meet the physical education standards. Also, North Miami Community School encourages every student to take more then the courses of physical education required for all Indiana diplomas.

    School Meal Program Eligibility Guidelines


    INDIANAPOLIS — The Indiana Department of Education (IDOE) is sharing federal eligibility guidelines for free or reduced-price meals or free milk served under the federally-funded National School Lunch Program, the School Breakfast Program, Special Milk Programs, and Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP).

    Household size and income criteria, which are used to determine eligibility, are available by visiting here. Each local school corporation office and organization participating in a School Nutrition Program or CACFP has a copy of the guidelines that may be reviewed by any interested party.
